What is Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT)?

Expressive arts therapy is a multimodal of approaches to psychotherapy. By integrating different art forms which include art, dance, drama, music, poetry and creative writing together, an individual can express inner feelings non-verbally with metaphorical expression within healing, counseling, healthcare or education setting, to work towards holistic wellness (Rogers, 1993).

Services:

  • To provide high quality counseling and psychotherapy services in programs, treatments and workshops, in individual and group settings, through tailor-made expressive arts and play therapeutic experiences.
  • To utilize multi-art modalities such as visual art coupled with music, movement, drama, play and writing as a creative channel for expressing, releasing and embracing one’s inner emotions through imaginative and metaphoric expressions.
  • To provide professional expressive arts therapy to children, adolescents, adults and the elderly dealing with issues ranging from self-esteem, mood disorders, identity exploration, developmental issues, special needs, separation and divorce, etc.
  • To inspire people in pursuit of self-development in holistic wellness, exploration, awareness, reflection and transformation.
